Whether you’re exploring identity, navigating relationships, or healing past hurt, you can begin here safely and at your own pace.
At Safe Haven, we believe that queer and gender-diverse people shouldn’t have to search for a therapist who understands them — affirming care should simply exist. While we support clients of all identities, we also recognize that LGBTQ+ individuals may sometimes face experiences that aren’t always well understood in traditional therapy spaces. That’s why we have a counsellor with specific training and experience in LGBTQ+ mental health — not because you need different support, but because you deserve a therapist who already speaks your language.
You don’t have to educate your counsellor here. You don’t have to shrink parts of yourself, wait to see if it’s safe, or translate your relationship dynamics or identity. Our goal is not to set you apart, but to make sure you feel fully seen and supported without hesitation.
Counselling can help with:
You don’t need to be in crisis to reach out. You might be seeking clarity, healing, or simply a place to feel at ease — all of it is valid.
While we support clients of all identities, we recognize that LGBTQ+ individuals may encounter experiences such as identity exploration, coming out, systemic bias, safety concerns at school or work, or uncertainty around how to express themselves. Therapy here doesn’t separate you — it simply acknowledges your lived reality so you can explore who you are with clarity and grounding.
Whether you’re navigating questions around identity, exploring how you want to express yourself, or working through internal conflict, therapy offers space to reflect without pressure to define yourself quickly. You don’t need to arrive with answers — discovering your own truth can happen gently and at your pace.
We support teens exploring identity, navigating school or family stress, managing anxiety or self-doubt, or working through the process of coming out. Therapy gives young people room to be honest without pressure to label or perform — it’s a place to feel supported as they grow into who they are.
Nadine has worked with many queer and gender-diverse clients and is deeply passionate about supporting this community. Her approach is grounded in respect, curiosity, and genuine care, allowing clients to speak openly about identity, experience, and emotion without feeling the need to educate their therapist. Nadine values the trust it takes to share these parts of yourself and brings warmth, presence, and affirmation into every session.
