At Safe Haven Counselling, we believe therapy is a meaningful investment in your emotional health, your relationships, and your future. Our rates reflect the specialized experience, advanced training, and dedicated care each of our practitioners brings to your sessions.

The Safe Haven Standard

When you work with our team, you are meeting with a professional who has met the highest provincial standards for clinical practice. Every counsellor at Safe Haven holds a Master’s Degree and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

Unlike unregulated “counsellors,” our team has completed years of post-graduate academic training and hundreds of hours of supervised clinical experience. This ensures your care is grounded in advanced psychological theory, evidence-based techniques, and a deep commitment to ethical, trauma-informed support.

Our Counselling Rates

Our fees are tiered based on the clinical experience and specialized designations of our team. In accordance with CRA regulations, all clinical sessions with our RCCs are GST-exempt.

Insurance & Billing

Direct Billing for Counselling in Surrey

We strive to make the financial side of your healing as seamless as possible. Most extended health plans in BC specifically require the RCC designation for reimbursement.

We offer direct billing for many major providers*, including:

A Note on Coverage

Every insurance plan is unique. Some plans cover 100% of the fee, while others cover a specific percentage or have a yearly cap. Some plans do not allow “assignment of benefits” (direct billing) and require you to pay upfront and submit for reimbursement.

We recommend calling your insurance provider before your first session to confirm that Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) are covered under your specific plan.

We accept all major Credit Cards and E-transfers. For your convenience, we require a valid credit card to be kept on file for any portions not covered by insurance or for late-cancellation fees.

If your plan allows it, we bill your provider directly at the end of your session. If there is a “co-pay” (a portion your insurance doesn’t cover), that balance will be charged to your card on file, and you will receive a receipt for your records. For us to be able to directly bill your sessions as soon as you begin treatment, please send us your insurance details prior to your first session.

We hold your session time exclusively for you. Because our clinicians dedicate time and preparation for each visit, we require 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee.
